Museum of the (Un)Spoken: an aural shelter for disclosed discussion
22.1 barbican
Glorious and wonderful, the Barbican stands as an icon of brutalist architecture. However, behind the facade it tries to maintain it contains a plethora of stories untold; stories that are not glorious nor wonderful. The Museum responds to a book which contains a collection of anonymous recounts of discrimination faced within the confines of the Barbican. In this space, sounds must overcome the silence, encouraging conversation and discussion to echo throughout. The museum is a participation of those who wish to learn. It is a participation of those who wish to share. Listen carefully, hear what there is to be said.
